The last day of winter, in theory at least, and it was light at 7.30am.

That top scene is just beautiful. Do all the Irish consider it the last day of winter or just you? We call March 21st the last day of winter over here. The days are slowly lengthening here, too, and it is still fairly light at 5 p.m.

  2. The last day of winter? If only…I'm already ready for spring. We just had a cold front come through and it's hovered at freezing all day…unusual for this far south (Texas).

@ Rebecca. Yes, everyone. Spring is Feb', March, April. and so on. To-day is more or less the date that puts the balance to Halloween, if one thinks in terms of a moon and a half. And that moon nearest the winter solstice.

@DfG, Ha (Chuckling with a certain level of hysteria), if we get your climatic conditions in late June we would be lucky.
